Hello again:
I want to recommend Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. I used this book a number of years ago & have just dug it out so I can study it again in 2008. There are writings for each day of the year to help you find your authentic self while learning to live more simply. Check it out on www.amazon.com where you can read a few pages before you buy it. Below is a review from an amazon customer.

A must for all women over 40!, November 25, 2007
I found this book quite by accident at a Barnes and Noble one day. After reading it I went back and bought one for all my close friends and sisters. Sarah Breathnach has defined in this book what is really important in life and helps you get in touch with these things. It's too bad we don't figure most of this out until later in life. Easy reading and a "feel good" book for someone who wants to enjoy life to the fullest. |
Do not be awe struck by other people and try to copy them. Nobody can be you as efficiently as you can. - Norman Vincent Peale

Good Day:
Well, we had another great Thinking Positive Party today. We watched Andy Andrews ‘The Seven Decisions’. I couldn’t begin to explain what the 7 decisions are nearly as well as he does, so I won’t even try. Suffice it to say he is incredibly inspiring & thought provoking. I watched the bonus features after everyone left & was blown away even more. He has experienced so much negative in life & yet he is so positive. His manners & his life values inspire me as well, especially as he talks about raising his children & what he wants his children to grow up knowing.
Read his life story & check out his books at http://www.andyandrews.com/about/index.php
I want to encourage everyone to have positive gatherings with friends. A campfire, a tea party, a dinner party, soiree – whatever works for your group. Get together & discuss your favourite book or watch a positive dvd. It’s easy to do & it generates more positive thinking, more positive vibes on this planet. It will inspire people to change their life. It will comfort people. Multiply the positive in you by sharing it.
If I can share my most personal thoughts. I feel like my little party is an oasis. A certain part of it is not about the inspirational movie. We do learn & discuss & are inspired to change our lives. But part of it is about inviting others to come somewhere away from the crazy world outside and be peaceful for a couple of hours. Creating a space where others can relax & be refreshed. So what I really encourage you to do is create an oasis for others. By blessing others you will be blessed in return.
Blessings,
Diana

Water. You know I’ve never fallen in love with drinking water. I could eat all day & all night. I love to eat. Wonderful textures & spices & sweet & salty & what else is there to eat. I love to eat. But very few beverages are actually yummy enough that I really want to drink them, especially water.
I know my column is supposed to be about thinking positive but I think I can make this apply. When we are hydrated we feel healthy & when we feel healthy it is easier to keep a positive confession & not be cranky.
Personally, I wonder if I drank more water would I have less heartburn, gastrointestinal upset, headaches, and hormone imbalance. I have been thinking about this for years. Somehow I just can’t make myself drink more water. It probably relates to me making it too big of a chore. If I could just relax & savour water but . . . . I’m not there yet.
The information below is from http://www.watercure.com/index.html
"I am a researcher. I have researched dehydration for the past 20 years. When I discovered that the solution to most of the disease conditions of our society is not a money maker, I decided to take my information to the public.
My research revealed that unintentional dehydration produces stress, chronic pains and many degenerative diseases. Dry mouth is not the only sign of dehydration and waiting to get thirsty is wrong. Medicine has based its understanding that it is solid matter in the body that regulates all functions of the body. I have explained scientifically at the molecular level that it is water that regulates all functions of the body including functions of solid matter. 75 % of our bodies are composed of water. The brain is 85% water. It is water that energizes and activates the solid matter. If you don’t take enough water, some functions of the body will suffer. Dehydration produces system disturbances. When I use the word water cure, I am referring to curing dehydration with water."

I really like Catherine Ponder & am currently reading ‘Open your mind to Prosperity’.
"The shocking truth about prosperity is that it is shockingly right instead of shockingly wrong for you to be prosperous. Please note that the word 'rich' means having an abundance of good or living a fuller, more satisfying life. Indeed, you are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health, happiness and plenty in your world. There are honorable methods that can carry you quickly toward that goal. It is easier to accomplish than you may now think. That, too, is the shocking truth about prosperity."

“When we look at a child, we see the that sense of fullness, of intrinsic aliveness, of joy in being, is not the result of something else. There is value in just being oneself; it is not because of something one does or doesn't do. It is there in the beginning, when we are children, but slowly it gets lost.”

A group of us went to Swank Farms & Screamworks a couple of weeks before Halloween. I highly recommend it as a great place for family fun with events for all ages, www.swankfarms.com.
Screamworks is a professional company that presents 2 haunted events on several acres in the middle of a cornfield at Swank Farms.
They kept the gate to Screamsworks locked until well after dark. Although, we could already hear chainsaws buzzing & chains rattles well before they let us in. The haunted mazes were awesome! Characters from every scary movie you have ever seen were everywhere. They followed you closely, called your name, made fun of you & jumped out from everywhere. More popups than the scariest movie you have ever seen. The costumes, makeup & props were superb. The actors were totally in character. The illusion of danger was everywhere.
I laughed myself silly for most of the event. But I do admit that the gag at the end of the second maze scared the living daylights out of me, had me running for my life.
One person in our party was terrified the whole time. He was clinging to others & afraid to round the next corner because another character might popup. At one point I got separated from our group & was trapped in the middle of a group of teenage girls who were backing away so much they were slamming into the walls every time a ghoul jumped out.
Life is like this – a problem pops up & we freak out. But a problem can only harm us if we let it. A problem is only a problem if we acknowledge it as one. It is our choice to be emotional. Quoting from Hale Dwoskin’s website “When an unwanted feeling comes up, you release it. That's it. With the limiting feeling out of the way, you are free to create any result you desire, whenever you want.”
When a problem/challenge arises in our life it is our choice how we deal with it. Do we panic, & imagine the worst or do we calmly analyze the emotions that rise up, then work to create our desired outcome?

Diana
I was housekeeping a couple of days ago at a house full of college students. One of the guys came into the kitchen & spoke to me but I couldn’t understand him. He flashed me a grin & I realized he had his jaw wired shut. I asked him what happened & he told me the story. It broke my heart and I told him I was so sorry this had happened to him. He replied “no need to be sorry just keep it positive.”
Thanks I needed that lesson.
